Press Releases - 7.15.2004
The North American Young Rider Championships are the premier equestrian event in the Western Hemisphere, but without a staff, the show comes to a screeching halt. NAYRC is in search of volunteers for all aspects of the competition - jump crew, ring stewards, runners, ring crew, and most importantly, scribes.
This year's NAYRC will feature an electronic system of scribing in the Dressage classes, doubling the need for scribes - one for the paper scribing, and one for the electronic scribing. NAYRC estimates it will need as many as 20 scribes each day over the course of the 5 day event, in addition to needing volunteers in every other aspect of running the show.
Interested in helping out? Get in touch with Debbie Garris at 312.401.1157. Potential volunteers are reminded that good behavior and promptness are of the essence, and potential scribes should have experience scribing at the FEI level.
Volunteers should also know that Region 2 will be holding a pizza party for all R2 riders, trainers, guests and volunteers. TO RSVP, contact Lauren Sprieser at 630.341.9693.
The Region 2 Advanced Junior/Young Rider website can be found at http://themusewithin.org/region2ajrayr/; keep your eye on the site for more AJr/YR fundraising and competition news!
